The crypto mining space has been slow since the bear market dominance over the course of 2018. However, players in this arena have continued to release better products for cryptocurrency miners. Cudo Miner, released a new GUI for its software on the 26th of March; this product is designed to be self-reliant in terms of the operating system (OS). Ideally, it can run on an external hard disk and makes available a couple GPU rigs to sort inefficient rigs with only a USB.
Cudo’s new OS comes installed in the Cudo Miner for use by its clients. Some of its competitive edges include the ability to initiate overclocking, switch the resources being used by a miner to capitalize on profit and an in-built benchmarking ability.
This latest OS release by Cudo is a full package for crypto miners and suits the current market dynamics almost perfectly. Cudo designed a USB compatible GUI utilizing only 4GB of space, it’s fundamental tech is built on Ubuntu 18.04. One can simply operate the CudoOS by plugging into a GPU mining rig that can read the data through NVIDIA and AMD drivers. In addition, a newer mining rig can be integrated into the Cudo Miner console through a clients’ Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
According to Cudo’s Director of Partnerships, Pete Hill, the ongoing bearish trend makes it hard for mining enthusiast to track and engage in setting up rigs. Another issue is the profitability of burning power relative to the coins mined; CudoOS solves for these problems by providing the options to set up quickly and rebuild malfunctioned mining rigs.
He added that Cudo emphasizes on the need to check mining rigs regularly for better efficiency. Pete said that CudoOS will make this easier for their clients given that the new GUI has tracking features to detect hardware problems. CudoOS also allows users to view the profitability such that;
“Earnings per coin, which is graphed for each device, remotely from the web console. We calculate earnings based on the valid shares received from the pool-side rather than the hashrate reported by the miner, making it the most accurate estimation of earnings. We are the first to do this, but we believe it is important to improve transparency.”
The operating system is downloadable from Cudo’s network for miners attempting to fix shortcomings in mining rigs. Miners have the option to choose a currency they wish to be paid out in through automatic conversion of the mined coin.
At the moment, Cudo Miner 0.15 can be installed in macOS, Linux and Windows. The product comes with a range of functions within its console that include; health checking for hardware, earnings from mining and control the mining device in general.
