One such option is Hive OS.
Hive Startup
When you first arrive at the website you are greeted with a page containing feature overviews, links and the registration button as well as the button to download the operating system. After you download the latest version and flash it to your usb stick, all you have to do is plug it in, start up the miner, then register at Hive. From there, you will create a rig profile as well as a wallet. Once all that is done, you are mining!
Keep in mind, you can get in to customization and configuration for which there is an endless load of options. Everything can be done from the web GUI, monitoring, switchers miners and wallet configurations, but also overclocking, undervolting and bios flashing GPU cards. The web GUI itself is slick, colorful and easy to navigate. It will display your overall hashrate as well as your GPUs, their individual hashrates, temperatures and fan speeds.

You can even run two miners at the same time, or even three if you have the right set up.
All of this is a real pro compared to a standard Linux or Windows installation. There are other OS out there with a similar concept like ethos or simple mining, and some users may find those more to their liking. Price point is another attractive feature allowing you to use Hive free on up to 3 rigs. Beyond that number, it will cost 3 USD a month per rig to use. Not too bad, but I can see that adding up compared to the one time cost of most programs.
My Experience with Hive
In my time with Hive OS it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, though there have been some negatives. Early on I would have issues saving configurations or have difficulty starting certain miners. However, I have not had these issues since updates have been implemented. The website may go down occasionally, though mining seems to continue uninterrupted. Not a problem if you are about to go to bed, but if you were in the middle of doing something like switching pools you may have a problem.
Sometimes troubleshooting can be an issue due to a of lack of information and no dedicated support. You can find support in the forum, telegram group or by emailing the creator himself. You may have to wait a little while, but you will get an answer to your questions.
Hive Overall Opinion
In the end I think Hive is a great solution for home miners and those operating large farms. The ease of use and flexibility are unmatched. It works great and won't cost an arm and a leg. Hive does have a few small issues, but it is important to remember just how new the project is and how quickly it is growing. Regular updates and maintenance are being performed and development is active. I would highly recommend Hive OS for anyone doing GPU mining at any scale.
